K-State Women’s Golf Signs Fortushniak to NLI

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Kansas state women's golf team picked up a new golfer for the 2018-19 season as head coach Kristi Knight announced the signing of Heather Fortushniak to a National Letter of Intent.

Fortushniak will be joining the Wildcats from Brighton High School in Brighton, Michigan, where she earned Michigan All State honors in both 2016 and 2017, while she was named team MVP this past fall. Along with all-state honors, Fortushniak also claimed a Michigan Junior 15 and Under Championship in 2016.

"We are excited to be adding Heather to our roster," Knight said. "She is a natural athlete who has played basketball, soccer, softball and hockey in high school. She loves to compete and has a tremendous work ethic. We look forward to watching her develop and excel at K-State."

Kansas State will continue its season February 25-26, as the Wildcats take part in the Westbrook Invitational in Peoria, Arizona.
