CAREER: A former walk-on who was a major factor on multiple special teams units his first three years on the field but started every game at linebacker as a senior... Was part of a 2017 Senior Class that earned a four-year record of 32-20, advanced to four bowls and pick up two bowl victories.

2017: Started all 13 games at linebacker, finishing second on the team with 97 tackles while adding 3.5 tackles for loss, four pass breakups and a forced fumble... Tied for 10th in the Big 12 in tackles... Totaled five double-digit tackle games – including a career-high 13 stops against TCU – while he recorded nine tackles in two other games... A semifinalist for the 2017 Campbell Trophy, often referred to as the “Academic Heisman,” as well as the Burlsworth Trophy, which is given to the most outstanding player who began his career as a walk-on... Voted a team captain for the 2017 season.

2016: Played in all 13 games as he led the team with 12 special teams tackles, including nine on kickoff coverage... His 12 tackles on special teams were the most since Jonathan Truman also had 12 in 2012... Pressed into duties at linebacker for a majority of the TCU game, setting a career high with five tackles and intercepting a pass near the goal line on the final play of the game... Totaled four tackles against Florida Atlantic and collected another three more at Iowa State... A First Team Academic All-Big 12 honoree.

2015: Saw time in eight contests, totaling seven special teams tackles... Had five stops on kickoff coverage and two on punts... Tied his career high with two tackles against both West Virginia and in the 2016 AutoZone Liberty Bowl against Arkansas... Also had tackles against South Dakota, UTSA and Iowa State.

2014: Played in all 13 games, recording nine tackles... Ranked fifth on the team with seven special teams tackles, all coming on kickoff coverage... Carded a career-high two tackles – both coming behind the line of scrimmage – against Oklahoma State.

2013: Redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Holton High under head coach Brooks Barta, a former Kansas State linebacker... Named the Kansas 4A Defensive Player of the Year and to the Topeka Capital-Journal and Wichita Eagle Top-11 teams... Led the Wildcats to a 2012 Kansas 4A State Championship... A First Team All-Kansas 4A performer at linebacker as a senior by the Topeka Capital-Journal and Wichita Eagle... Chosen to play in the 2013 Kansas Shrine Bowl... Named an all-league performer at linebacker as a sophomore, junior and senior... An honorable-mention All-Kansas 4A pick at linebacker in 2010 and 2011... A three-time all-county selection at linebacker... Helped Holton earn three-consecutive league titles... Also a three-year letterman for the Wildcat basketball team... An all-league and all-county pick at guard as a junior... Earned a 4.0 GPA as he graduated Summa Cum Laude and was also a FBLA Regional Champion.
