FROM THE HEAD COACH
K-State Head Coach Colleen Corbin
On the offense in the first half…
"I thought we again did a really good job to create chances, take shots and generate offensive momentum in the first half and then I think that was amplified in the second half. I was also really happy that we put shots on goal and made their goalkeeper make saves. However, games are only won when shots hit the back of the net and the team knows that we need to be more ruthless to put chances away."

On defensive performance tonight…
"Our press and our defensive presence continues to be a huge part of our identity and something we take pride in and execute well. It also allows us to have more offensive opportunities higher up the field. It's really exciting to be able to frustrate teams and force them to adjust their game plan, but again, I would love for us to capitalize on making other teams uncomfortable."

On possession in the second half…
"I think that we were sat in their defensive their to start the second half and we weren't able to capitalize after about 20 minutes, Houston started to gain some energy. We became a little frantic as the half wore on, but I was happy to see us regain momentum to end the game."

On the team heading into Sunday's match…
"We need to compete with conviction and intensity for 90 minutes. This part of the season requires a certain level of fire and grit that we are still looking to see from the team. This team is still very much in the hunt of our postseason aspirations and I am looking forward to a big opportunity for our group on Sunday against another great opponent."
