K-State Athletics Communications
The award-winning Kansas State Athletics Communications Office - a 2016, 2019, 2020 and 2021, 2022 and 2023 FWAA Super 11 recipient - acts as the primary liaison between K-State's popular and nationally recognized athletics programs and the public. In doing so, the staff is responsible for serving the needs of not only the media, but also coaches, student-athletes, supporters and fans.
With interest in Wildcat athletics at an all-time high, the Athletics Communications Office devotes much of its time to facilitating interview requests between national, regional and local media outlets and Kansas State coaches and student-athletes. The office also produces a bounty of information celebrating the exploits of each Wildcat team in order to help generate and assist in the media coverage of Kansas State athletics.
In addition to its media relations responsibilities, the Athletics Communications Office also devotes much of its efforts to producing award-winning publications such as media guides and game programs, creating content for the department's various social media accounts, maintaining the official athletic department web site, k-statesports.com, generating news and public information releases and assisting the Fan Experience and Sales Office in the creation of posters, schedule cards and trading cards.
The K-State Athletics Communications Office also provides game-day management and statistical services as needed at competition sites, compiles the historical records of each team through the collection of results, photos, newspaper clippings and video tape and oversees the athletic department's Hall of Fame. The staff also works closely with the Big 12 Conference, the NCAA and various sports governing organizations.
