
Schmidt, Sims Tabbed CSC Academic All-District

MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State's Brenna Schmidt and Symone Sims were each named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Teams, following the organization's announcement Tuesday.
Schmidt boasts a 3.72 grade-point average in humanities, while Sims owns a 4.00 GPA in organizational management. The Academic All-District honor is the second of their respective careers, as both earned the accolade last season.
As a program, K-State has collected 40 CSC Academic All-District honors and has landed multiple players on the Academic All-District team in four consecutive seasons. A total of six players have earned eight Academic All-District honors under third-year head coach Jason Mansfield.
Schmidt led the Wildcats in blocks per set at 1.05, the 13th-best mark in the Big 12. The 6-foot-6 middle blocker from Eagle, Nebraska, finished second on the team with 79.0 total blocks and put down a career-best 1.20 kills per set (90 total). She also posted the team's second-highest hitting efficiency at .271.
A native of Frisco, Texas, Sims led K-State with a career-high 423 digs and recorded a single-match career-best with 26 in the Wildcats' five-set upset of Kansas on October 24. She became the fifth player in program history to record 10 matches with 20 or more digs, tying for fourth all-time.
The junior libero concluded the season with 126 assists and 21 service aces. Her 3.99 digs per set ranked third in the Big 12, while her 423 total digs finished sixth.
K-State's season (18-10, 10-8 Big 12) concluded at the 2025 NCAA Division I Volleyball Championship after earning an at-large bid into the postseason, marking the program's 19th all-time NCAA Tournament showing and first under Mansfield.
