Cats Win Third Straight with Sweep over NC State Wednesday
Sep 03, 2025 | Volleyball
MANHATTAN, Kan. – For the third time in program history, K-State has opened the season with a nine-set winning streak, after sweeping NC State, 25-19, 25-18, 25-21, at the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Classic at Morgan Family Arena on Wednesday night.
Â
NC State (3-1) threatened the streak in Set 3, erasing a 21-15 K-State lead and closing the gap to one with its 21st point – the most the Wildcats have allowed in a set this season. After a K-State (3-0) timeout, momentum flipped, as the Wildcats closed on a 3-0 run with kills from Shaylee Myers and Aniya Clinton, capped by a block from Jordyn Williams and Reagan Fox to secure their third straight sweep.

FROM THE CATS
Jason Mansfield, K-State Head Coach
Overall Statement…
"Quick turnaround, but I thought we played really well and came in prepared. They're a tough team to scout because they run a 6-2 offense and have a lot of strong attackers, but we did a good job slowing them down. It was a gritty win – we had to play good defense, and I think we did. Fifty digs and nine blocks in three sets is great. Aniya Clinton's performance stood out, and our middles also did a great job. I'm especially proud of Reagan [Fox], hitting .444 with 11 kills. She struggled a bit in the first two matches, so I'm really happy for her that she got that kind of performance."
