
Versatile Forward Lindsay Joins the Wildcats

The 6-foot-6 forward played in all 32 games for Oregon in 2025-26
MANHATTAN, Kan. – First-year head coach Casey Alexander continued his build for the 2026-27 men's basketball season on Thursday (April 23) with the addition of transfer Dezdrick (Dez) Lindsay (Louisville, Ky./Male/Florida SouthWestern/Oregon).
A 6-foot-6, 215-pound forward originally from Louisville, Ky., Lindsay arrives at K-State from Oregon, where he spent the past two seasons (2024-26), including a redshirt year in 2024-25. He saw action in all 32 games for the Ducks with nine starts in 2025-26, averaging 5.1 points on 39.9 percent (57-of-143) shooting, including 32 percent (16-of-50) from 3-point range, with 2.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.8 steals in 20.6 minutes per game.
Lindsay scored in 29 of 32 games played with five double-digit scoring games highlighted by a season-high 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting to go with 5 assists in a win over Penn State on Feb. 14. He had double figures in two other Big Ten games, including 10 vs. Iowa on Feb. 1 and 11 vs. Washington on March 7. He grabbed 5 or more rebounds seven times, including a season-best 6 on three occasions, while he dished out a season-high 7 assists vs. Omaha on Dec. 28.
Lindsay transferred to Oregon after two seasons (2022-24) in the junior college ranks at Florida SouthWestern State in Fort Myers, Fla., where he played in 53 games with 32 starts for a Buccaneer squad that posted a 42-18 overall record. A two-time all-conference pick, he averaged 13.3 points on 50.2 percent (277-of-552) shooting, including 36.5 percent (50-of-137) from 3-point range, in his 2-year career with 5.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.3 steals in 25.8 minutes per game.
Lindsay's best season at FSW came as a sophomore in 2023-24 when he averaged 16 points on 50 percent (161-of-322) shooting, including 41.5 percent (34-of-82) from 3-point range, to go with 7.3 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.7 steals in 25.8 minutes per game. He earned FCSAA Region 8 All-State honors and was the First Team All-Conference pick after averaging 18.5 points in conference pay, while ranking in the top-5 in points, field goal percentage and 3-point field goal percentage. He scored a career-high 38 points against No. 4 Dayton State to earn NJCAA National Player of the Week honors on Feb. 7, 2024.
Lindsay played his prep basketball at Louisville's Male High School, where he led the Bulldogs to a 28-6 record and a trip to the Sweet 16 of the 2022 KHSAA State Tournament.
Lindsay is the sixth player to join the Wildcats this spring, joining 7-foot-1, 255-pound center JT Rock (Sioux Falls, S.D./Lincoln/Iowa State/New Mexico), 6-foot-7, 205-pound forward Isaiah Abraham (Gainesville, Va./Paul VI/UConn/Georgetown), 6-foot-5, 200-pound guard Jaden Schutt (Yorkville, Ill./Yorkville Christian/Duke/Virginia Tech), 6-foot-2, 185-pound high school point guard Jaylen Alexander (Oxford, Ala./ Oxford) and 6-foot-10, 238-pound forward Brock Vice (Memphis, Tenn./Houston/Creighton/North Texas/Murray State).
