K-State Tennis Named ITA All-Academic Team for Eight Straight Years

Wildcats have been named All-Academic for eight of Smith's nine years at the helm
MANHATTAN, Kan.- The K-State women's tennis team was named a 2026 All-Academic Team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), an honor achieved for eight consecutive years, while seven Wildcats were also named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
With a team GPA of 3.655 for the academic year, seven of the team's nine women were named Scholar-Athletes, Maralgoo Chogsomjav, Martaa Chogsomjav, Margaret Jaraczewski, Sasha Kyselova, Addison Renfro, Mallory Renfro and Chanel Rustemova.
After nine seasons at the helm, head coach Jordan Smith has overseen 29 women earn 49 Scholar-Athlete honors.
This is a consecutive honor for Maralgoo and Rustemova while it is the second for Jaraczewski after earning the accolade in 2024 while competing at Samford University.
On June 30, the Academic All-Big 12 team was named with Maralgoo and Rustemova being named while Martaa, the Renfro sisters and Smolinska were named to the Rookie Team. In May Rustemova was also named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team.
All 16 women's teams in the Big 12 Conference were also named All-Academic Teams for a total of 104 Scholar-Athletes. Cincinnati led the league with nine women earning accolades, followed by Arizona and Texas Tech with eight athletes each.
For a program to be named an All-Academic Team the team must have a combined GPA of 3.2 or above, while a Scholar-Athlete must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.00 scale for the academic year.
