HONOLULU, Hawaii – Following a one-day adjustment of the match due to Hurricane Lala, Kansas State wrapped up its time in the Outrigger Soccer Kickoff on Saturday afternoon by playing through a Tropical Storm Warning and overcoming an early Hawaii goal to pour on a 3-1 win at Lower Campus Field on the University of Hawaii campus.

K-State (2-0-0) completes the opening weekend of the season with a pair of wins for the second straight season and the third time in program history. The seven goals in the first weekend are the most goals the Wildcats have scored in an opening weekend in the 11-year history of the program.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hawaii (0-2-0) went on top in the fourth minute, as Anuhea Aluli finished a pass from Jas Cayetano in the lower right corner.
- K-State sophomore forward Gabby DeMers squared the game at 1-1 in the 28^th minute. DeMers finished a pass from sophomore defender Chloe Dillbeck into the upper left corner from 12 yards for her first of the season and second of her career.
- In the early stages of the second half, senior midfielder McKinnan Braswell found fellow senior midfielder Anna Pagano who promptly buried her first career goal dead center of frame from 14 yards to give K-State a 2-1 lead in the 47^th minute. This would be the eventual game-winning goal, the first of Pagano's career.
- This was Braswell's fifth assist at K-State and the sixth of her collegiate career.
- In the 53rd minute, junior Allsion Marshall widened the K-State lead to 3-1 as she gathered a Wildcat throw-in and proceeded to bury her attempt from 24 yards into the bottom right corner. This was Marshall's first goal of 2026 and the seventh goal of her K-State career.
- Hawaii had registered five shots in the first 21 minutes. For the next 69 minutes, the Wildcats surrendered just two shots including a stretch of almost 36 minutes of game action spanning the final 24 minutes of the first half and 12 minutes into the second half without a Rainbow Wahine shot attempt.
- K-State held a 16-7 advantage in total shots and a 6-3 edge in shots on goal. The Wildcats also outpaced Hawaii in corner kicks, 9-0.
- Junior goalkeeper Maddie Sibbing pocketed her second win of 2026 and her ninth career win at K-State, as she made two saves in the less-than-ideal conditions.

QUICK FACTS
- Head Coach Colleen Corbin is 31-30-17 (.506) in her five career seasons as a head coach. She owns a 9-6-5 mark in her two seasons at K-State.
- The Wildcats are 20-12-6 in its history in matches played in the month of August, including a current winning streak of seven straight in the month of August dating back to the last match in August of 2024.
- This was the first meeting in the series between K-State and Hawaii.
- The Wildcats are 5-1-1 all-time in matches against current members of the Mountain West Conference.
- The Wildcats are 19-55-17 (.302) in road matches in their history, including a 4-3-4 record in the Corbin era.
- This was just the seventh time K-State has played a match on a Saturday (1-5-1).

- The match was tied 1-1 at halftime on Saturday. In its history, the Wildcats are 18-37-21 when tied at halftime, including a 4-4-4 mark under Corbin's direction.
- K-State held the advantage in total shots. When doing so, the Wildcats are 35-21-11 in its history, including a 9-3-4 record under Corbin.
- The Wildcats had the advantage in corner kicks, 9-0, K-State is 31-29-10 all-time when they have more corners that its foes, including a 6-2-3 mark under Corbin.

PLAYER NOTES
- With her goal, Marshall notched the seventh of her career. She is tied for 4th in program history for career goals. Marshall is fifth in program history for career points with 18.
- With her assist on Pagano's game-winning goal, Braswell moved into a tie for sixth in program history for career assists with five. She is the 10^th player in program history with five or more assists.
- DeMers recorded career-highs for total shots (4) and shots on goal (3).
- Sibbing owns nine career wins at K-State, which ranks third in program history. She needs three wins to break the record of 11 held by Alain Werremeyer (2020-22).
- Senior defender Reece Walrod made her 43rd consecutive start. This was her 44^th career start and her 53^rd career match played.
- Walrod notched 90 minutes of action. With her 90 minutes on Saturday, Walrod improved her career minutes played total to 3,963 and ranks ninth among field players in program history. She has played the full 90 minutes in 21 consecutive matches and 26 of her last 27 matches.
- Senior forward Rilyn Rintoul, senior defender Lily Hendrickson, senior midfielder McKinnan Braswell and junior goalkeeper Maddie Sibbing each made their 20^th straight starts at K-State.
- Sophomore defender Chloe Dillbeck started her 14^th consecutive match.
- Sophomore midfielder Langley Mayers made her 11^th career start.

"It was definitely and eventful day that brought its fair set of challenges – wind, rain and one day less of rest to name a few. But the team was awesome in their preparation and making sure there weren't any excuses stepping onto the field today. I am very proud of how they handled less than ideal circumstances."

On the team's response to Hawaii's early goal…
"We were obviously disappointed to concede (a goal) and ever more disappointed to concede so early. However, the team responded positively and was able to generate momentum and start to create chances to get us back into the game."

On Gabby's goal late in the first half and her performance in today's match…
"Gabby's goal was critical to getting us back into the game and shifting the energy in our favor. She had a spark today and definitely caused their back line some real problems. Gabby has been training and competing at such a high level, so I am really happy for her to get rewarded and see the ball hit the back of the net."

On locking down Hawaii's offense for the final 69 minutes…
"After the first 20 minutes, the staff and I were able to see some areas that we felt like we could address and so we decided to make a few tactical changes. We made those changes in the run of play and I am incredibly proud of the team for being able to adjust on the fly and stifle them defensively while also immediately being able to generate way more offensive action."

On Allison Marshall's goal and her movement up the K-State career goals list…
"Allison's growth this past year has been so fun to watch. She is incredibly competitive and cares about wanting to help the team win. She has really developed her ability to hold up the ball and play with the people underneath her, but has recently gained a lot of confidence in receiving the ball and turning defenders to get shots off, which is how she scored today. It was an incredible individual effort to receive the ball off a throw in, turn inside and get her shot off. So excited for her and what's to come."
