
Alexander to Throw Out First Pitch at Friday’s Baseball Opener

The freshly-minted head coach will also join the TV and radio broadcasts.
MANHATTAN, Kan. – New Kansas State men's basketball coach Casey Alexander will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Friday's Big 12 baseball opener with Arizona State, which is set for a 6 p.m., CT start at Tointon Family Stadium.
In addition to first pitch, Alexander will visit with the ESPN+ broadcast crew of Brian Smoller, Trevor Hurley and Sophie Smith in the top of the second inning before joining the radio team of Matt Walters and Mike Clark in the bottom of the inning.
Tickets for Friday's highly-anticipated series opener between the Wildcats and Sun Devils start at $17 and can be purchased online at kstatesports.com or through the Athletics Ticket Office at (800) 221.CATS. The teams will play again on Saturday at 4 p.m., CT and Sunday at 1 p.m., CT.
Alexander, who guided Belmont to 166 wins and four conference titles in the last seven seasons, including the 2026 Missouri Valley Conference Championship, was formally introduced as the 27th head men's basketball coach at K-State on Monday (March 16).
Alexander has won more than 300 games (303-180; .627) in his 15-year head coaching career (2011-26), which includes stints at Stetson (2011-13), Lipscomb (2013-19) and his alma mater Belmont (2019-26), with 6 conference championships (2018 Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament, 2019 Atlantic Sun Conference regular season, 2020, 2021 Ohio Valley Conference regular season, 2020 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament and 2026 Missouri Valley Conference regular season).
