K-State Earns President’s Special Recognition Academic Award

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Kansas State men's golf team was collectively honored for its work in the classroom as the Wildcats were named to the President's Special Recognition list for the 2025-26 PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Awards, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced Wednesday.
The Wildcats picked up the accolade by having a combined team GPA of at least 3.50, one of 88 NCAA Division I squads to earn the President's Special Recognition honor. It is the second-straight season K-State earned a team academic award from the GCAA after landing on the All-Academic Team (3.00 GPA and above) in 2024-25. This is the eighth time since 2010-11 that Kansas State has earned a team academic award from the GCAA and the second in which it earned President's Special Recognition (2015-16).
Three Wildcats – Fionn Dobbin, Shea Harmeson and JP Roller – were named Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars last week by the GCAA, while the trio was joined by Ben Stoller and Tyler Strong on the Academic All-Big 12 list.
On the course, the Wildcats posted five top-five finishes in their 11 events to tie for ninth in program history, including a win in the season-opening Wildcat Invitational and runner-up finishes in the Git-R-Done Invitational and Mobile Bay Intercollegiate. K-State recorded a 289.15 team scoring average this past season, which ranked seventh in school history.
