K-State’s Uhlin Named CSC Academic All-American

This is his second Third Team Academic honor
MANHATTAN, Kan. – Senior Emil Uhlin was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Men's Track and Field/Cross Country Academic All-America Third Team on Wednesday (July 16).
This is his second career Third Team Academic honor, previously being named in 2023. This is the ninth honor for K-State men's track team, the first under head coach Travis Geopert, while Uhlin is the third Wildcat to earn the honor twice.
Scott Sellers was named to the First Team in 2008 and 2009, Tejaswin Shankar to the Second Team in 2021 and 2022.
Studying biology with a 4.00 GPA, Uhlin has accumulated multiple academic honors including a three-time CSC Academic All-District team honoree, a three-time USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete, was named to the 2024 Academic All-Big 12 team and the All-Big 12 Rookie Team in 2022.
Uhlin, a native of Falun, Sweden, earned his first NCAA First Team All-America accolade on June 12 after finishing 3rd in the men's decathlon with a personal best 7,859 points, the no. 4 best score in K-State school records. He competed in one other decathlon during the season at the Drake Relays (April 23-24) where he finished 4th with 7,788 points.
Eight other men from the Big 12 Conference were named, BYU's Trey Jackson the only one named to the First Team. The Cougars have three more nominees while Iowa State features two men and one honoree each from Arizona, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech.
