Lindstrom Tied for Second in NCAA Regional
May 18, 2026 | Men's Golf
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Kansas State senior men's golfer Alex Lindstrom posted an opening-round score of 4-under par 67 on Monday during the first round of the 2026 NCAA Corvallis Regional held at the par-71, 7,361-yard Trysting Tree Golf Club.
A native of Halmstad, Sweden, Lindstrom enters Tuesday's second round tied for second place with four other players, one shot behind individual leader Emil Borrestuen Herstad of Washington.
"Alex was rock solid all day," head coach Grant Robbins said. "With his length off the tee, he was able to have a lot of wedges for his approaches, which allowed him to be more aggressive to some of the hole locations. He is striking the ball well, and if he can hole a few putts, he will be in a good spot at the end of the week."
Lindstrom posted his second-lowest round of the season behind a 63 he recorded in the first round of the Git-R-Done Invitational en route to a victory. It was his 11th round in the 60s this season, including his fourth in the last three events.
Lindstrom played the front 9 at 2-under par thanks to birdies on Nos. 1, 5 and 6 before a bogey on No. 8. After making par on each of the first four holes after the turn, Lindstrom birdied Nos. 14 and 16 as part of a bogey-free back 9 to solidify his top-two spot before Moving Day.
On the team side, Purdue recorded a 12-under par 272 to lead two teams tied for second place – Arkansas and Oklahoma – at 9-under par.
Lindstrom begins the second round of the 2026 NCAA Corvallis Regional Tuesday morning at 12:04 p.m. (PT). Live results can be followed on SCOREBOARD powered by Clippd, while video coverage is available on Babygrande Golf.
