MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State volleyball was presented with its 23rd American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2025-26 academic year, the organization announced Thursday.
The award is presented to programs that maintained a team grade-point average of 3.30 or higher during the academic year, marking the team's third Team Academic Award under head coach Jason Mansfield. K-State is one of only 11 NCAA Division I programs and the only Big 12 program to earn 23 or more AVCA Team Academic Awards in its history.
Five Wildcats were named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team, while five freshman earned Academic All-Rookie honors, as K-State posted a 3.37 team GPA during the 2025-26 academic year. Six players recorded a perfect 4.00 GPA during the fall semester, including setter Emerson Van Lannen, who maintained a perfect 4.00 GPA throughout the entire academic year.
The AVCA Team Academic Award was established in 1992-93 and honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that demonstrate excellence in the classroom. More than 1,400 collegiate and high school volleyball programs earned the award for their academic achievements during the recently completed school year.
K-State returns seven letterwinners from its 2025 roster that advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, marking the program's first postseason appearance in the Mansfield era.
