Sep 01, 2025 | Soccer
BOSTON, Massachusetts – K-State remained unblemished in the 2025 season with a 0-0 draw at Harvard on Monday at Jordan Field. The Wildcats have gone unbeaten in five consecutive matches for the first time in school history. With its fifth consecutive shutout, the Wildcats have established a new school record for consecutive shutouts and consecutive shutout minutes with 450:00.
FROM THE HEAD COACH
K-State Head Coach Colleen Corbin
On dictating the tempo of the match…
"The staff and I were incredibly happy with how well our team executed the game plan and also with how coachable everyone was. This match was the most proud I have been with our team so far this season. We were asking the girls to make adjustments in real time and they were flexible and intentional with applying information. Our overall fitness and athleticism showed today and we were able to dictate the tempo at a high level for the majority of the match."
On the difference in the offense from the first to second halves today…
"We actually made some defensive adjustments which then allowed us to generate more attacks offensively. Our team takes pride in their discipline and work rate off the ball, so it was really fun to see the players execute the game plan at a high level and then be rewarded with dangerous goal scoring opportunities, especially out of the press."
On the shutout streak…
"The team's competitive mindset and relentless work rate to keep the ball out of the back of our own goal has been a work in progress since the beginning of the spring, and it's been really fun to watch the team continue to take great pride in earning shutouts. Our entire backline and our goalkeeper are working incredibly well together and they continue to do a great job communicating and holding each other accountable in defending moments."
On the play of Maddie Sibbing…
"Maddie (Sibbing) is an incredibly talented goalkeeper and having a goalkeeper of her caliber in net gives the rest of our backline a lot of confidence in the decisions they are making. The shutouts that are being earned have definitely been a group effort. Having her in goal is a huge bonus for us."
